60m2 Decking Completed for This Summer.
First stage of the process was to make the land as flat as possible to allow for easier access. Although it would not have any affect on the final product, it was a quick quality of life imporovement.
The next stage was to dig our holes for the foundations approx 2-3 ft deep, we dug out around 15 holes to provide adeuate support for the structure. Once the founds had been placed they were filled with Postcrete and allowed to harden. We ran a string-line and spirit-level to make sure the structure was level to 0 degrees/completey flat.
The distance between each support was a factor of the total length of a decking board to ensure that each decking board would slot into place neatly and no unecessary cuts would be needed.
Every decking board was placed to ensure that the slats were alternating every row to provide a more aesthetically pleasing finish. Every decking board has 2 decking screws drilled into every joist intersection. A total of over 2500 screws were used in the building process.
The final product. Gates and stairs were custom built to ensure safety and easy access. The neighbouring fence was raised to provide privacy and improve aesthetics.
The client requested the unlevel ground be left for DIY projects in the future.
In total the project took 1 week from contract draft to final payment.
The clients were very happy with the work carried out by Re-roof Scotland Ltd;
"We had a huge deck built by James and Lenny. They've done an amazing job and we're now looking forward to enjoy it next summer! I would highly recommend them!"
